Qualification
- 10th Standard Pass from Govt. Recognized Board with English, Science, and Mathematics with 40% Aggregate. English 40% in 10th/ 12th.
OR
- 12th Standard (Any Stream) pass from Govt. Recognized Board with 40% Aggregate & English 40% in 10th/ 12th.
OR
- Pass a 2-year ITI course approved by DVET. With minimum 40% Aggregate marks in final year of ITI & Minimum 40% marks in English in 10th/ 12
OR
- A Minimum of 40% Marks in the English language Either in the 10th, 12th, or in the Diploma/Degree Exam; a Minimum of 50% in English if Passed from a Vernacular Medium.

Course Description
- STCW is a 15 Days pre-sea training course approved by D.G. Shipping, Govt. of India.
- The course assists in starting a career in the Merchant Navy as an Ordinary Seaman (Deck) or Wiper (Engine)
- This course will cover all aspects of the seafaring profession, which also include theoretical and practical study of General Ship Knowledge and Marine Engineering Knowledge (Deck and Engine).
- This course is conducted Every Month of the Year with batches commencing in January and July each year.

- After the completion of the course, the Seaman will be issued with the CDC, INDoS No.

CAREER FLOW CHART
- Trainee Ordinary Seaman (Deck) / Trainee Wiper (Engine) 18 months Min. (SAL: 200$-400$)
- After getting the watchkeeping certificate, Sail as AB / OILER for 12 to 18 months (SAL: 400$-800$/800$- 1200$ Resp.)
- After a total sea time of 24 months, appear for NCV 2nd mate (Deck)/appear for class 4 NCV (Engine)
- Upon obtaining 2nd mate, sail as 2nd Officer/obtaining class 4 certificate, sail as 4th engineer (SAL : 3500$ – 5500$)
- Master Mariner/Chief engineer (SAL: 8500$ -12000$)
